2024 Flights Championships

Sign Ups start in June. Check back at the end of July for the 2024 Brackets.

Welcome to the Flights Championship tournament. This is a match play event with 5 brackets of 16 players each. Players are seeded by their 6-month Low Index (LI) when the brackets were set. This is a single elimination tournament contested in August (1st Round), September (2nd Round), October (3rd Round) and Championship Saturday on November 16.

USGA Rules for Match Play govern all matches. Refer to USGA Rules for Match Play for details.

It is suggested that the President’s and Vice President’s flights play from the Blue Tees and the other flights from the White Tees. However, you and your opponent can play any tees you wish as long as both players agree on it. If a player accidentally plays from the wrong tee, the opponent can require the player to re-play the tee shot with no penalty.

Once the brackets are finalized, you will receive an email with your opponent's contact info. Together you must arrange a time to play your match by the last day of the month. I will have 4 tee times Saturday & Sunday every weekend the course is available. I will try to get 2 matches playing together but if it just 1 match you may be paired with the public, you can invite friends to fill group if your opponent does not mind. Please let me know by Wednesday of that week if you need a weekend time as we give back any unused tee time back to El Dorado.

Important

  1. Use Current 6-month Low Index - Use the USGA GHIN App to get your current handicap.
  2. Stroke or Hole Concessions - Make sure you clearly communicate if you are conceding a putt or hole. If your opponent mistakenly picks up their ball, there is no penalty but the ball must be replaced and played.
  3. Rulings and Disputes - If you and your opponent disagree on a ruling, the dispute must be settled before continuing the match, no playing a 2nd ball. If you can not agree on a ruling you can ask myself, Bob Livingstone or Cliff Aichele by text or calling us. Contact Us
  4. Posting Scores - all scores must be posted promptly. If there are uncompleted holes, enter a Net Par for those holes to complete the scorecard.
  5. Posting Match Results - the winner of a match is responsible for informing the Event Runner of the match result.
